When it comes to financial advice, one of the most common questions people ask is: “How much will it cost me?”
At Sterling Welsh, we believe in being open, transparent, and straightforward about our fees. We want you to have complete confidence that you’ll never receive unexpected charges — and you’ll never pay a penny unless you agree to go ahead with our recommendations.
How We Work With You
Our advice process follows six clear steps:
Engagement – we get to know your goals, hopes and concerns.
Discovery – we build a clear picture of your financial position.
Research & Plan Creation – we analyse your situation and design your financial plan.
Presentation – we explain our recommendations in detail.
Implementation – we put the agreed changes into action.
Ongoing Review – we revisit your plan to ensure it stays on track.
At each stage, you stay fully in control. Nothing happens without your agreement.
Our Initial Fees
We operate a menu-based fee structure, so you only pay for the services you need. Examples include:
Initial Financial Plan – £1,245 (minimum fee, payable by all new clients).
Implementation Fee – 1.5% of funds invested (capped at £10,000).
New Product Setup – £250 (capped at £500).
Switching Existing Pensions/Investments – £250 per plan (capped at £1,000).
Specialist Services – such as inheritance tax planning or trust work, with clearly set fees.
Importantly, we will always agree the fee with you before any work begins.
Ongoing Service Options
You can choose whether to work with us on an ongoing basis or just for one-off advice.
Lite Financial Planning – £300 per year.
Wealth Management – 0.5% of assets (min £600, max £5,000).
Full Wealth Management – 1% of assets (min £1,500, max £15,000).
Ongoing services include regular reviews, tax efficiency checks, investment monitoring, and access to your adviser. Again, this is entirely optional — the choice is yours.

No Surprises – No Pressure
You will always know in advance what the total fee will be.
You will only be charged if you decide to proceed with our recommendations.
You remain in full control every step of the way.
